Reports circulating within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suggest that actor Randeep Hooda is mulling over the possibility of contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Rohtak constituency. Sources close to the party reveal that there's increasing speculation about Hooda's potential venture into politics with a bid for a Lok Sabha seat. Rohtak, situated in Haryana, is being eyed as the probable battleground for his electoral debut.

Rohtak Currently Under BJP's Grip

The Rohtak Lok Sabha constituency is presently under the control of the BJP, with Arvind Sharma serving as the incumbent Member of Parliament. Sharma clinched victory in 2019 by defeating Congress' Deepender Hooda, securing a notable 47% of the votes with a total count of 573,845.

Rohtak: A Stronghold of Bhupinder Hooda

Rohtak, a district in Haryana, holds significance as the stronghold of former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Historically dominated by the Jat community, the Rohtak seat was previously held by the Congress party. Both Deepender Hooda and Bhupinder Hooda have represented this constituency in the Lok Sabha. It is anticipated that Congress might nominate Deepender Hooda once more, with significant expectations from the local populace.

BJP's Dominance Across Haryana's 10 Seats

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured victories across all 10 seats in Haryana, cementing its dominance in the region. While Congress managed to hold the Rohtak seat in the 2014 elections, it couldn't retain it in 2019. The BJP aims to reclaim this seat, signaling its strength ahead of the assembly elections. Winning in Rohtak would underscore BJP's message to the public that even traditional Hooda strongholds are within its reach.
