According to a report by the Geneva-based World Intellectual Property Organization India has risen to 39th rank out of 133 economies Global Innovation Index (GII) 2024 rankings. India has climbed one spot as compared to the previous year's rankings.
Reacting to the latest development, the honourable Prime Minister wrote, “A remarkable feat! Our government is committed to ensuring a vibrant innovation ecosystem, which can transform the lives of the youth.” on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

The GII is the world’s benchmark resource charting global innovation trends to guide policymakers, business leaders, and others in unleashing human ingenuity to improve lives and address shared challenges, such as climate change. The GII is a reliable tool for governments worldwide to assess the innovation-led social and economic changes in their respective countries.
