Vikrant Massey is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films and television.After completing his education from R. D. National College, Massey made his acting debut with Dhoom Machaao Dhoom (2007) and worked in television serials such as Dharam Veer (2008), Balika Vadhu (2009–2010) and Qubool Hai (2013). Massey expanded to films with supporting roles in Lootera (2013), Dil Dhadakne Do (2015) and Half Girlfriend (2017).
The independent drama A Death in the Gunj (2017), in which Massey had a leading role, marked a turning point in his career, gaining him a nomination for the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. He subsequently appeared in the biographical drama Chhapaak (2020), romantic comedy Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare (2020), mystery thriller Haseen Dillruba (2021), family drama Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi (2021), and romantic thriller Love Hostel (2022). Massey also had leading roles in the streaming series Mirzapur (2018), Broken But Beautiful (2018–2019) and Criminal Justice (2019), and in the biographical film 12th Fail (2023), which emerged as a sleeper hit. Vikram said, "I did menial roles and felt underutilised".
In his note, Vikrant called Manoj a role model. Taking to his Instagram story, the actor wrote, “Sir, You are my hero. You are my idol. I was fortunate to have got the opportunity to portray the character of a simple and noble person like you on screen.” Vikrant Massey has been receiving a lot of love from all quarters for portraying IPS Manoj Sharma’s role in 12th Fail. The, released in theatres on October 27, draws from the struggles of millions of students who attempt the UPSC entrance exam.
12th Fail received rave reviews from critics and the audience. The Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta gave the movie a 3-star rating and wrote in her review, “Vikrant Massey-starrer cleaves close to ground reality, with characters that make you feel that they’ve wandered off the street, dishing out life-lessons laced with dollops of inspiration.”
