Chhattisgarh, India - Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced Chhattisgarh with a monumental day of progress as he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects totaling approximately ₹27,000 crore. Among these transformative endeavors, NMDC Steel Ltd's state-of-the-art steel plant in Nagarnar took center stage.

Before commencing the program, Prime Minister Modi paid his respects at the sacred Danteshwari Temple in the Bastar region, setting a spiritual tone for the auspicious occasion.

The Nagarnar steel plant, erected at a cost exceeding ₹23,800 crore, marks a significant milestone in India's industrial landscape. This greenfield project is poised to manufacture high-quality steel, reinforcing the nation's self-sufficiency in this critical sector.

In his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the vision of a developed India hinges on the comprehensive development of every nook and cranny of the country. He stated, "Today, multiple development projects worth more than ₹27,000 crore have been dedicated to the nation, and their foundation stones have been laid."

The NMDC Steel Ltd's Steel Plant at Nagarnar holds the promise of generating thousands of employment opportunities within the plant and its ancillary and downstream industries. It is set to catapult Bastar onto the global steel industry map, ushering in a new era of socio-economic growth for the region.

In addition to the steel plant, the Prime Minister inaugurated a new railway line between Antagarh and Taroki and initiated a railway line doubling project connecting Jagdalpur and Dantewara. He also laid the foundation stone for the Boridand-Surajpur rail line doubling project and the redevelopment of Jagdalpur Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

As a symbol of enhanced connectivity, Prime Minister Modi flagged off the Taroki-Raipur DEMU Train Service, a move that will significantly improve transportation options in Chhattisgarh's tribal regions. The bolstered rail infrastructure and the introduction of the new train service are poised to foster local development and bolster the region's economy.

Additionally, the Prime Minister dedicated a road upgrading project along the 'Kunkuri to Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand Border section' of National Highway-43. This strategic road enhancement will enhance connectivity and bring about tangible benefits for the local population.

Chhattisgarh is among the five states heading to the polls by year-end, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aspiring to assume governance, challenging the Congress government that came into power in 2018. Prime Minister Modi's commitment to development projects underscores his vision for a progressive and inclusive India, resonating with people from all walks of life.
