The 5th Rashtriya Adhiveshan (National Convention) organized by Bharat Bharati, an apolitical organization dedicated to national integration and cultural harmony, was successfully held in Pune on 26th, 27th, and 28th June 2026 at Najushree Jain Bhawan, bringing together scholars, writers, intellectuals, and cultural enthusiasts from across the country.
The convention was graced by notable leaders, including former ISRO Chairman Shri S. Somanath as the Chief Guest and RSS Sah-Sarkaryavah Shri Ramdutt Chakradhar ji as the keynote speaker.
With key focus on National Vision, the national convention held discussions heavily centred on nation-building, cultural synthesis, and contributions toward realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat. Serving as an important platform for discussions on literature, language, culture, and the role of intellectual traditions in shaping India’s future, the 3-day event drew 400+ delegates from 24 Indian states and Union Territories, including specialized teams from West Bengal, Sikkim, and Tripura. Spanning from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Kutch to Kamrup (covering the entire Northeast), representatives participated in this three-day session. For the first time, representatives from regions ranging from Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh to Nagaland were also present.
On June 26, the session was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. S. Somanath—former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), who brought glory to India globally by successfully landing Chandrayaan on the Moon. The Chief Guest formally inaugurated the event by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. In his address, Dr. Somanath highlighted the harmony between modern science and the scientific nature of the vast knowledge found in the Indian Sanatan Dharma, stating that the secrets of science lie hidden within our country's Puranic and Vedic knowledge. He also cited the Rig Veda in this regard. Expressing confidence in his address, he stated clearly that, thanks to the current government's excellent policies, India, once known as 'Vishwaguru' (global mentor), will certainly regain that status within the next 20 years. He noted that the country is advancing rapidly on the path of progress across all sectors while simultaneously preserving its heritage. We must preserve our traditions and culture.
The first day featured numerous engaging events, culminating in an evening showcase that offered a glimpse of Maharashtra's distinctive culture through captivating performances of song, music, and dance. On the second day, Ramdutt Chakradhar, Sah-Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Speaker. In his spirited address, he cited various examples of unity within Sanatani Hindu Indian culture and emphasized the need to further strengthen and advance it. He stated that the Hindu is the symbol of ‘Sanatan’, Indianness is the symbol of the Hindu, and nationalism is the symbol of Indianness. He remarked that anyone who, transcending caste, sect, and religion, rejoices in India's victory in any sport is a true Indian and a patriot. He asserted that, by virtue of its character, India has been and will remain a Hindu nation. Citing various examples to illustrate the widespread resonance of the name 'Ram', he explained how Lord Ram, the embodiment of ideal manhood ‘Purushottam’, stands as a symbol of unity in India.
Present on the occasion were Bharat Bharati National President Sulabh Singh Dhawan, National Working President Vinay Patrale, National Secretary Rudranarayan Tiwari, and Pune Metropolitan President Anchal Jain, who addressed the delegates through various sessions and meaningful dialogues on preserving Indian knowledge systems and promoting national consciousness through language, literature and cultural exchange.
For this event organized by Bharat Bharati, every participating delegate was asked to bring a handful of rice and a handful of soil from their own homes. On the final day, ‘kheer’ (a traditional rice pudding) was prepared by mixing the rice brought by the participants, a dish that embodied the unparalleled sweetness of unity. The soil contributed by the members will be used in the construction of the Bharat Mata Temple. On the evening of the second day, based on the vision of Suresh Kumar Vishwakarma, a member of Bharat Bharati, a unique “Human Map” of India was created, followed by a collective Aarti (prayer ceremony) dedicated to Bharat Mata, which was highly appreciated by the people present. The scene was truly unique: standing in the open courtyard, beside a depiction of India and in front of the Bharat Mata temple located within the complex, the 400 participants performed the ‘Aarti’ while holding lit ‘diyas’ (lamps), a moment captured by a drone. It was a truly stirring spectacle. Throughout the duration of the convention, the atmosphere remained filled with devotion, resonating with chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Vande Mataram."
The central theme of this session was unity; thus, it focused on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of national unity, as this year marks his 150th birth anniversary. However, since this year also marks the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, he too was discussed. Furthermore, as it has been 150 years since the composition of the song 'Vande Mataram' by Bankim Chandra, there was also a discussion regarding the song and its creator. Moreover, when an event takes place in Maharashtra, how could Shivaji Maharaj possibly be forgotten? The atmosphere resonated with chants of "Jai Bhavani." Therefore, naturally, portraits of these four eminent figures, Shivaji Maharaj, Sardar Patel, Bhagwan Birsa Munda, and Bankim Chandra, were displayed in the meeting hall and on the premises.
Several events took place on the final day, during which members who had made active contributions were felicitated. A notable feature of this session was the significant participation of women from across the country. Excellent arrangements were made for food and accommodation, and the members of Bharat Bharati, Pune, spared no effort in their hospitality. Team Jaipur was announced to take charge of the next convention, while Team Keralam assumed responsibility for the upcoming executive committee meeting. The outline for key programs in the near future were finalized; notably, it was announced that a ‘Sainik Sammelan’ (Soldiers' Gathering) in Jamshedpur and a ‘Matrushakti Sammelan’ (Women's Empowerment Gathering) in Patna would be organized on a large scale.
The event highlighted Bharat Bharati’s continued commitment to strengthening cultural unity and encouraging literary contributions that reflect India’s rich heritage. Delegates appreciated the convention as a significant step toward fostering greater collaboration among thinkers and creators dedicated to national and cultural development.
