The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has taken proactive steps to enhance the integrity of the upcoming UP Board Examinations in 2024. These measures, outlined by Divyakant Shukla, Secretary of the Secondary Education Council, are aimed at preventing cheating and ensuring a fair examination process.

In the guidelines issued by UPMSP, the allocation of examination centres for the 2023 UP Board Examinations will follow a structured approach. The primary preference for examination centres will be given to government and government-aided schools, underscoring the commitment to maintaining the quality and authenticity of the examination environment. Non-financed schools will be considered next in line for hosting examination centres.

Private schools, that meet specific standards and conditions, will also be authorized to conduct the examinations. However, certain eligibility criteria must be met. Non-financed schools that witnessed an absentee rate exceeding 30 percent among their students in the previous year will not be eligible to become examination centres for the upcoming exams. Similarly, private schools with fewer than 80 registered candidates will not be designated as examination centres this time around.

One significant development for the academic year 2023-24 is the shift towards online processes for determining examination centres. Schools are required to furnish their complete details on the official website of the Council. The board will subsequently release a provisional list of examination centres on October 30, streamlining the allocation process and enhancing transparency.

To further safeguard the integrity of the examinations, specific security measures, and infrastructure requirements have been outlined:

These measures collectively reflect the UPMSP's commitment to conducting fair and secure examinations, safeguarding the academic futures of students in Uttar Pradesh. By implementing online centre allocation and stringent security protocols, the UPMSP aims to curtail cheating and maintain the sanctity of the examination process, fostering an environment conducive to academic excellence.
