Heavy to moderate rainfall welcomed Delhi this morning, and this caused heavy traffic jams and water logging in Several parts of Delhi and its adjoining National Capital Region (NCR). Along with Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad also witnessed rain in the dawn of Wednesday morning.

It's a relief after severe humidity in the city for the past few days. But due to the thunderstorm, and lightning accompanied by heavy rainfall, the schools in some areas of Delhi and Noida will stay closed today. The minimum temperature on Wednesday morning was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius. The IMD has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for most of Delhi-NCR, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall and heavy thunderstorms.

Yamuna River continued to overflow in Delhi with the water level recorded at 205.45 meters at 7 am on Tuesday. The danger mark of the Yamuna River is 205.33 meters. On Monday, the water level in Yamuna was at 206.56 meters. The river is still flowing just a few centimeters below the danger mark. At 10:00 pm Tuesday, the Yamuna water level was recorded at 205.24 meters against the danger mark of 205.33 meters. It was 205.32 meters at 7:00 pm. The continuous increase in the water level of Yamuna has been leading to a flood-like situation in Delhi-NCR. It's a matter of concern. The river water level had been hovering around the danger mark of 205.33 meters for the last few days after reaching an all-time high of 208.66 meters on July 13.
