The 106th Foundation Day celebrations and the two-day 43rd convention of Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan were recently held on 19th and 20th October 2024 at the prestigious premises of Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Kadam Kuan, Patna. The event highlighted the importance of the Hindi language and pledged for a continuous struggle for Hindi to be declared the national language of India. The event was inaugurated by former Union Minister Padma Shree Dr. C P Thakur and the Chief Guest Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar, Mr Mihir Kumar Singh. The event commemorated 73 litterateurs, writers, and authors nationwide, with prestigious awards for their excellent contributions to Hindi Literature.

Pune based Writer, Columnist, Editor, and HR-turned-Author Jyoti Jha received the prestigious Dr. Shanti Jain Smriti Sammaan at the grand event by former Union Minister Padmashree Dr C P Thakur and Dr Anil Sulabh, President; Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan.  Jyoti Jha is an esteemed winner of ‘The Times of India Write India Season 3’ and has authored, edited, and translated several books in both English and Hindi. TEDx speaker (IIM Kashipur), Speaker at major literature events like Times LitFest, Pune International Literary Festival, and Ahmedabad International Literature Festival, and several IITs and IIMs, she has been awarded 'Vidya Vachaspati' from Vikramsheela Hindi Vidyapeeth. She was invited as a judge at IITBHU (Kashiyatra), featured in Femina and India Today, and interviewed at Radiocity Pune 91.1 FM. She has conducted Writing Workshops at IITs and NIT. She is the Chief Coordinator of the Literary Chapter of Let’s Inspire Bihar (IPS Vikas Vaibhav’s campaign). Her books have garnered much appreciation from readers, prominent media houses, and the literary fraternity. Her Bestselling Hindi novella ‘Aanandi’ has been shortlisted for the PVLF Author Excellence Award by FrontList, adapted for Theatrical Representation by Saimona Creation, Gujarat, and made into an Audiobook by Pune-based Zankar Studio for Storytel. She has translated the literary piece of Hindi Sahitya Akademi Winner Dr Avinash Biniwale’s ‘Iran-Paarsiyon Ka Teerthkshetra’ from Marathi to Hindi and her other literary translation from Angika to Hindi ‘Chaubatiya’ by Dr. Shivchandra Jha, is a literary tribute to her father. Her upcoming book 'Beyond Spectrum’ is on Autism (Vishwakarma Publications) and she is also working on the translation (English to Hindi) of well-known bestselling author Sujata Parashar’s awarded book ‘Going Solo’ (Atlantic Publishers). She is a Columnist in The Literary Mirror (literary magazine), and her stories, book reviews, featured articles, poems, and opinions have been published in several reputed publishing journals, media houses, and literary magazines. She has won several literary awards. ‘Aanandi’ holds a special place in her writing endeavors; the book is an experience and a journey for her. Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan has held a significant role in her literary journey and being selected for the prestigious Dr Shanti Jain Smriti Sammaan at the premises of Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan has been extremely precious to her. Receiving the award with her mother by her side has been an emotional experience for her. She feels tremendously grateful to the esteemed organization, the respected members, and the valuable selection committee.

While eminent personalities across the country received several awards and accolades, Nitish Raj, Literary Critic-turned-Author and Editor-in-Chief; The Literary Mirror, received Dr Murlidhar Srivastava ‘Shekhar’ Sammaan for his exemplary literary contributions and services. Some other prominent names included in the list were Shri Kunwar Veer Singh Maartand, Dr Vandana Vajpayi, Shri Anil Kumar Sahay, Prof. Atul Mohan Bharwi, Dr Anjani Kumar Suman, Srimati Kumari Kiran, Dr Hareram Singh and many more.  

The event also saw some enlightening sessions remembering and celebrating the cherished memories of great writers like Suryakant Tripathi Nirala and Rambriksh Benipuri, poetry reading by several renowned poets, cultural activities, book launches, and a closing ceremony marked with felicitations. Dr. Archana Tripathy, a renowned poetess and executive member- Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, managed a session ‘Mahapran Nirala ki Kavya-Drishti’.  Vice President- Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan Dr. Madhu Verma, Dr. Shivvansh Pandey, Pradhan Mantri- Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Shri Ashok Kumar, library minister, Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Dr Sushma Kumari, and other members of the organization enthusiastically participated and efficiently managed the mega event.

Dr Anil Sulabh, President- of Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan is positive towards the efforts and dedication of the organization for Hindi language and literature and is hopeful that the language will soon be accepted as the national language of India.
