Commencing on October 1st, Alliance Air is set to launch a direct flight service connecting the vibrant city of Amritsar in Punjab to the picturesque town of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. This new route promises to enhance travel convenience and promote tourism in the region.

Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, will operate direct flights between Amritsar and Kullu three times a week, adding a new dimension to connectivity in the northern part of India. Furthermore, starting from November 1st, Alliance Air will also offer direct flights between Shimla and Amritsar on the same thrice-weekly schedule.

The flights between Amritsar and Kullu are scheduled to operate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Travel enthusiasts can already make bookings to secure their seats on these exciting routes. The flight from Kullu will take off at 8:25 AM, reaching Amritsar at 9:30 AM. The return flight from Amritsar will depart at 10:00 AM, touching down in Kullu at 11:05 AM, ensuring convenient options for travelers.

One significant highlight of this new route is that 50% of the seats on these flights will be subsidized, making air travel accessible and affordable. The fare for the journey from Kullu to Amritsar will be ₹2,637, while the return trip from Amritsar to Kullu will cost ₹3,284.

Himachal Pradesh's Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, expressed his enthusiasm about the new air connectivity. He highlighted the importance of direct flights to Amritsar, a prominent domestic and international hub, as it opens up avenues for tourists to explore the scenic beauty of Kullu-Manali, Lahaul, and Spiti.

Sukhu stated, "The government is committed to enhancing air connectivity and setting up heliports to boost tourism and economic development." The addition of this new route aligns with the government's vision of improving accessibility and promoting tourism in the region.

Aside from the three existing airports in Jubbarhatti (Shimla), Bhuntar (Kullu), and Gaggal (Kangra), efforts are underway to expand Kangra airport further, enhancing air connectivity within the state. Additionally, Himachal Pradesh has made strides in developing heliports in Shimla, Baddi, Rampur, and Kangnidhar (Mandi), with plans for yet another heliport in the enchanting town of Manali.

The introduction of direct flights between Amritsar, Kullu, and Shimla marks a significant step forward in the quest to bolster transportation and accessibility in Himachal Pradesh. This development is poised to make travel to the Himalayan state more convenient and enjoyable for tourists, thereby contributing to the region's economic growth and fostering a deeper appreciation of its natural beauty.
