The G20 Summit, a confluence of the world's most influential leaders, has descended upon India this year, bearing significance not only for the nation but for the global community as well, given its role in shaping international economic policies. A group of 78 instrumentalists will serenade the world leaders assembled for the summit with the evocative melody 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (The World is One Family).
Scheduled for presentation during the ceremonial dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu in honor of the G20 leaders on September 9, the performance, entitled 'Bharat Vadya Darshanam' – Musical Journey of India – by the 'Gaandharva Aatodyam' ensemble, promises to be an enchanting experience.
This musical odyssey will showcase an array of traditional Indian instruments, including the santoor, sarangi, jal tarang, and shehnai, all meticulously curated by the Sangeet Natak Akademi. Among the 78 artists are 11 children, 13 women, six differently-abled (divyang) artists, 26 young men, and 22 seasoned professionals.
