Patna, November 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar at Dinkar Golambar in Patna on Monday, honouring the legacy of the iconic poet whose writings have inspired generations across India.
During his visit, the Prime Minister described Dinkar as the “pride of Bihar” and one of the most powerful voices in modern Indian literature. Shri Modi said that Dinkar’s patriotic compositions continue to motivate citizens to dedicate themselves to the service of Maa Bharati.
“The powerful compositions of Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar have always inspired citizens to serve the nation with devotion and pride,” the Prime Minister said, expressing that it was a privilege to pay homage to the literary legend in his home state.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister wrote in Hindi:
“बिहार की धरती के गौरव राष्ट्रकवि रामधारी सिंह दिनकर जी की ओजस्वी रचनाओं ने देशवासियों को मां भारती की सेवा के लिए सदैव प्रेरित किया है। आज पटना में दिनकर गोलंबर पर उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करने का सौभाग्य प्राप्त हुआ।”
Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, revered as Rashtrakavi (National Poet), was known for his nationalist and reformist poetry that stirred patriotic fervour during India’s freedom movement and post-Independence era. His celebrated works such as Rashmirathi and Parshuram Ki Pratiksha continue to resonate deeply with readers across generations.
The Prime Minister’s tribute at Dinkar Golambar reflects the government’s continued recognition of cultural icons who have made significant contributions to India’s literary and national identity. The event also drew attention to Bihar’s rich literary heritage, of which Dinkar remains an enduring symbol of pride and inspiration.
