On Tuesday, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, along with his cabinet members and Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, undertook a significant pilgrimage to the revered Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya. Arriving at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport via a special plane, the delegation proceeded to offer prayers in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
Expressing profound emotions, CM Dhami remarked on the transformative experience, stating that the darshan of Lord Ram left his heart overflowing with devotion and joy. Reflecting on the journey of Ramlalla from residing in a makeshift tent for many years to being enshrined in a magnificent temple, Dhami emphasized the collective jubilation and sense of fulfillment among devotees.
In a strategic move to facilitate pilgrimage for the people of Uttarakhand, the state government, under Dhami's leadership, unveiled plans to establish a state guesthouse in Ayodhya. With an allocated budget of Rs 32 crore for land acquisition, the guesthouse project aims to provide boarding and lodging facilities spanning 4,700 square meters for pilgrims from Uttarakhand visiting the holy site for darshan.
The decision to visit the temple with his cabinet was rooted in CM Dhami's earlier resolve, which coincided with the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple on January 22. Additionally, during a recent special session of the Uttarakhand assembly, resolutions were passed expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the culmination of the long-awaited consecration ceremony and addressing pertinent legislative matters such as the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and 10% horizontal reservation for statehood activists.
Accompanying CM Dhami on this spiritually significant journey were his cabinet colleagues Satpal Maharaj, Premchand Aggarwal, Subodh Uniyal, Dhan Singh Rawat, Rekha Arya, along with Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, all of whom participated in the prayers at the sacred site in Ayodhya.
