Thirteen-year-old Ishwar Sharma, a young talent of Indian descent residing in Sevenoaks, Kent, in south-east England, clinched the Gold Medal at the European Yoga Sports Championship held in Sweden. His journey into yoga commenced at the tender age of three, inspired by his father's dedicated practice.

Competing in the Boys 12-14 category at the Europe Cup 2023, Sharma emerged victorious, showcasing his exceptional yoga prowess at the European event organized by the International Yoga Sports Federation in collaboration with the Swedish Yoga Sports Federation in Malmo.

In a statement, Sharma's family highlighted his passion for advocating yoga, especially for children with special needs, referencing his autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

During the pandemic lockdown, Sharma led daily yoga sessions for 40 children spanning 14 countries. His efforts were acknowledged and commended by former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who honored him with the Points of Light award for his dedication in spreading the joy of yoga globally, particularly among children with special needs.

Recognized for his outstanding contributions to yoga, Sharma boasts five world championships and received the British Citizen Youth Award at the House of Lords. Collaborating with his father, Dr. Vishwanath, Ishwar actively operates IYoga Solutions, aiming to propagate the benefits of yoga throughout the UK.
