In Pune, a 36-year-old resident, Rohit (name changed for privacy), had a close encounter with an elaborate dating app scam that unfolded in a rather unsettling manner. It all started on September 21 when Rohit initiated a conversation with a mysterious girl on the Seeking Adventure Dating App. As their discussions progressed, they continued their interaction on Telegram. Little did Rohit know that he was walking into a trap.
The girl shared a series of alluring and seductive photos with Rohit, who was gradually ensnared in her web. Their chats evolved, and eventually, the girl suggested booking a hotel room for an intimate rendezvous. Rohit, unsuspecting, made a reservation for Room 302 at the Pune Gate Hotel.
As the appointed time arrived, both Rohit and the girl found themselves in the same room. Rohit was excited, but little did he know what awaited him. The girl then requested a money transfer of 12,000 rupees, which Rohit promptly made. However, the situation took a turn for the worse when she demanded an additional 38,000 rupees.
This time, Rohit refused to comply, leading to a sudden and violent confrontation. The girl called one of her accomplices, and within the confines of the hotel room, Rohit was subjected to physical assault. They seized all of his money, along with valuable jewelry, leaving him in a dire situation.
The Search for the Predatory Seducer
Pune Police had been on the lookout for this girl, who had not only ensnared individuals in Pune but also in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. Once someone fell into her trap through a dating app, they were subjected to a harrowing experience before being left in financial ruin. The police had been on her trail for an extended period, determined to bring her to justice.
Finally, their relentless pursuit paid off, leading to the arrest of the girl in Mumbai. Alongside her, her accomplice, Neetesh Navin Singh, was also apprehended. Neetesh Navin Singh, originally from Bihar, was involved in the intricate web of deception.
A String of Robberies
According to the police, these two individuals had collaborated in multiple scams, targeting several unsuspecting victims. They had successfully looted valuable jewelry and money from those who had fallen for their ruse. The police are now searching for the victims who had been deceived by this cunning duo, with the hope of returning the stolen possessions and bringing justice to those affected by their criminal activities.
