The IDFC First Bank and Hurun Report unveiled a roster highlighting these enterprising women, encompassing a diverse group of stellar entrepreneurs.
The leading position in this exclusive group was clinched by Ghazal Alagh (35), closely followed by Saumya Singh Rathore (35), the co-founder of vernacular social gaming platform WinZO. The esteemed lineup also includes Rajoshi Ghosh (36), co-founder of API management app Hasura, and Garima Sawhney (37), co-founder of health-tech company Pristyn Care. Joining them are Kanika Gupta (39), co-founder of tech-led brokerage and mortgage marketplace Square Yards, Vineeta Singh (40) of Sugar Cosmetics, and Ruchi Kalra (40), co-founder of B2B commerce and fintech startup OfBusiness.
Further enriching this illustrious list are Mabel Chacko (40), co-founder of neo-banking platform Open, Ruchi Deepak (41), co-founder of general insurance company Acko, and Amrita Sirohia (41), co-founder of money app IndMoney.
This unveiling coincides with the release of India's Top 200 Self-made Entrepreneurs of the Millennia 2023, where Radhakishan Damani, founder of Avenue Supermarts (D-Mart), secured the top position. Notably, this roster predominantly comprises male entrepreneurs, with Falguni Nayar, the founder of Nykaa, standing as the leading self-made woman entrepreneur, securing the 12th spot.
The ranking of these entrepreneurs is determined by the value of their enterprises, and not their individual net worth. Anas Rahman Junaid, MD and Chief Researcher at Hurun India, highlighted the diversity of Indian entrepreneurship reflected in the list, showcasing dynamism across age groups, genders, and regions. Junaid also noted Bengaluru's prominence as the favored destination for most founders to establish their companies, diverging from preferences observed in the Hurun India Rich List, where Mumbai and New Delhi are favored cities.
